Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering is a high-level academic journal sponsored by China Mechanical Engineering Society, and supported by China Machinery Industry Information & Publication. The Journal has English and Chinese versions, each of which provides different information. The Chinese version started its publication in 1953, and the English version in 1988.
Article I The Nature of the Board
Under the leadership of China Mechanical Engineering Society, the editorial advisory board of Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering (short named: the editorial advisory board) is an academic leading organ taking charge of the editing and publication of the Journal.
Article II Rights and Obligations
1. To set down the publishing purpose of the Journal, as well as the reporting guidelines and the topic-selecting precepts.
2. See to the final examination and part of preliminary examinations of the articles which are contributed to the Journal, and guarantee a high quality and a high academic level of the Journal.
3. To recommend and organize high-level academic papers, and encourage creative and inventive authors to write articles for the Journal.
4. To carry forward academic democracy, and carry out the two principles[1] faithfully as well. Moreover, the Board would encourage and organize academic papers of various schools and standpoints, and enroot upstanding academic atmosphere in the edition of the Journal.
5. To propagandize the Journal in the circle of mechanical science abroad and domestically. The Board could make use of every opportunity and channel to boost the circulation, and at last increase the social benefits and economic profits of the Journal.
Article III The Composing of the Board
1. The editorial advisory board is composed by members appointed by China Mechanical Engineering Society.
2. The editorial advisory board has one director, and several deputy directors and editorial advisories. The Board can also have honorary directors and editorial advisories if necessary.
3. The editing department, established under the editorial advisory board, is a standing organ which is under the administrative leadership of the sponsoring unit.
4. The term of each editorial advisory board is five years. During the five-year term, the members of the editorial advisories could change slightly, and the rearrangements of the member should be no more than 1/3 of the total number.
Article IV Working Systems
1. The general conference of the editorial advisory board should be held once within the five-year term. The mission of the general conference is to review last years’ working performance, constitute or modify working schemes for the future. Through negotiations, the editing department and the director of the Board can make an impromptu decision to hold meetings for part of the editorial advisories according to the needs of the work.
2. The members of the editorial advisory board should finish examining relevant articles in time, and put forward definitive suggestions for accepting or rejecting the articles, or for doing modifications.
3. The editing department will decide the final version of the articles, edit and publish articles according to the final examination suggestions. The arguable or hard-to-decide articles will be submitted to the editorial advisory board by the editing department to make the final decision.
