Editorial Advisory Board of CJME

The editorial advisory board and board of directors of Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering (CJME) are supervisory and directive setups to be jointly responsible for the edit and publication of CJME with the sponsored department and undertaking department.

The editorial advisory board and board of directors are responsible for formulating the aim of operation, the direction of report and the plan for subject selection of CJME; recommending and organizing high-level academic papers; carrying forward academic democracy, encouraging and organizing the publication of academic papers of different schools and viewpoints, guiding CJME to establish good style of writing; propagating CJME among domestic and foreign mechanical science circles; and supervising and inspecting the journal quality and directing the tasks of workers in the editorial department.

In 1953, a group of famous experts in the field of Chinese mechanical engineering founded CJME and established the first editorial advisory board. The director of the editorial advisory board was Mr. Zhuang Qianding, Chinese famous expert in power machinery, founder of mechanical engineering department of Tsinghua University. In some early editorial advisory boards, there were world-class scientist Qian Xuesen, originator of Chinese missile and satellite science, standard-bearer of development of scientific course in China, and world-class scientist Wu Zhonghua, founder of Wu's Universal Theory as called by the international academic circles, originator of Chinese engineering thermophysics. There were also a large group of often-heard and well-remembered mechanical engineering experts such as Liu Xianzhou, Li Yousan, Zhu Jingzi and Lei Tianjue. Up to now, eight sessions of editorial advisory board have been established. The members of editorial advisory board accompanied with CJME have passed through a journey of trials and hardships over the 50 years and have left numberless assiduous figures who were examining contributions and correcting papers, while having had their scientific research results with top academic level published on CJME. They have supported the development of CJME in all manner of ways and engendered today's bril liance of CJME by using their youth and enthusiasm, painstaking effort and wisdom. Their names will be permanently engraved on the historical monument of CJME!

CJME will, under the direction of the editorial advisory board and board of directors, advance in a pioneering spirit, fit in with the new environment, constantly reform and innovate, thereby contributing strength to the development of mechanical engineering and to the progress of human society.
