Liu Fei , born in 1948, received PhD degree in 1987 from Chongqing University and was a visiting scholar in Wright State University, USA, from 1991 to 1992.

　　 Now he is a professor at Chongqing University and Director of Institute of Manufacturing Engineering in Chongqing University. His research interests include manufacturing systems engineering, network-based manufacturing and green manufacturing. In these fields, he has finished a lot of national research projects, achieved some scientific fruits and published more than 200 papers and 11 books.
　　 Because of his achievement, he received a lot of scientific & technical achievement prizes from the governments and concerned authorities. He was awarded the Outstanding PhD of China by National Education Commission in 1991 and National Outstanding Expert by Ministry of Personnel of China in 1997.
