Lu Zesheng, born in February 1940, graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology in July 1964 and served as an instructor after graduation. He is currently a professor and a doctoral tutor in College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering in Harbin Institute of Technology, and the principal of Post-doctoral Mobile Station for Mechanical Engineering and National Key Discipline of Mechanical Manufacture and Automation. He also serves as vice chairman of National Institute of Mechanical Control Engineering and chairman of North East Chapter. He is a recipient of the special stipend granted by State Council of China.

He has been engaged in teaching and research for years in precision and ultra-precision machining technology, mechatronic control and automation technology, machining error testing and compensation, hydrostatic support technology, group technology, etc. He has graduated twenty PhD and thirty master’s students, and taught seven subjects of undergraduate, masters and doctoral courses. He has led and participated in Predictive Study Project of National Tenth Five-Year Plan, projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, projects of PhD Programs Foundation of Ministry of Education of China, and more than ten other research projects. He has been awarded three 1st prizes and two 2nd prizes of Scientific and Technological Advancement at the ministerial level. He has published one book (as editor-in-chief), edited three textbooks (as editor-in-chief) and published over eighty academic papers.
