Song Kongjie, Professor of Shandong University, born in Zhejiang Province in 1935 and graduated form Shandong Polytechnic University in 1956. After graduation, he began his teaching and researching work career there, he was appointed as a head of vibration and noise control unit. In the field of researching work, he has his own feature and characteristic, and has been gotten great achievement in the area of mechanical vibration and noise control, especially in the control strategy of structure-borne sound and got high academic reputation. So that, he got the honourr of the top technical expert of Jinan and gained extra-subsidy of the state council.
In his academic career, Professor Song has made important contribution in the development of mechanical vibration and improves the remarkable power flow theory, so he has been standing committee member of Society of Vibration and Noise Control (CSVE); Honorary Chairman of Acoustics Society of Shandong Province; Vice-chairman of Shandong Association for Vibration and Noise Control; also he is the member of editorial advisory board of many important journals, such as Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, Journal of Vibration Engineering, Noise and Vibration Control, etc and the reviewer of many important journals at home and abroad ,such as Journal of Sound and Vibration, Chinese Journal of Acoustics, etc.
In the last few years, as a principal investigator, he has taken on several research projects. The main projects contain Optimum Control of Complicated Mechanical System’s Dynamic on Flexible Foundation; Dynamic Characteristic Optimization of Continuous Isolation System with Multi-disturbance Sources, Intellectual Control of Beam-like Large-span Complicated Structure in Engineering and Investigation and Result Evaluation of Power Flow Method in Transmission Characteristic of the Floating Raft System, which were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Chinese State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). As a professor, he has supervised 20 master degree students and 15 doctoral candidates, and has published at home and abroad over 150 papers and solved a lot of problems in engineering vibration and environmental noise. Based on these achievements, he has gained many important awards containing the Second Prize of Shandong Province Science and Technology Progress Award in 2002 and the Second Prize of Natural Science Award of State Education Ministry in 2004.
Based on existing knowledge, he successfully used the mechanical impedance and the power flow theory to study the vibration and shock isolation and the structure-borne sound control and creatively set up the feedback of engineering control theory in isolating work. So his researching achievements have been widely used and cited by the experts and professors at home and abroad, his great researching potentiality and creativity, good cooperation with other researchers and high academic reputations are highly appraised and expected by his colleagues.
