Wang Zuwen is the President of Dalian Maritime University, P.R. China. Prof. Dr. Wang is a tutor for doctor candidates, deputy director, professor.Hydraulic Conveyance & Control Committee, China Association of Mechanics Engineering.
Dr. Wang was borne in 1955 in Shandong Province of China. He studied and majored in the power engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology and graduated in 1982; Dr. Wang continued to study master program at the Institute and obtained his master degree in 1984. He pursued his doctoral study at Sophia University of Japan and obtained his doctor degree in engineering in 1990.
During 1990 and 1992, Dr. Wang was the visiting researcher of the Japanese SMC company. Since returning home country, Dr. Wang has been an associate professor, professor, tutor for doctor candidates, vice president of the Harbin Institute of Technology. Dr. Wang is a professor in the faculty of marine engineering at Dalian Maritime University. In January 2004, he is appointed the President of Dalian Maritime University.
Dr. Wang’s specialty mainly involves the foundation research in applied pneumatics technology and system, in pneumatics parties, pneumatics conveyance and control system. Dr. Wang is currently undertaking the research on theoretical study and application of gas lubrication in low and high pressure conditions, on artificial assembly et al.
Dr. Wang has undertaken, either independently or as the team leader, and completed several national level research projects, including the study on the issues of the dew fall in pneumatics system (the national natural science foundation key project); the study on bionic muscles in pneumatics (the national natural science foundation); the study on the theory of gas lubrication at super sonic speed under high pressure with heavy load (the national natural science foundation key project); study on three axis floating platform in the attitude control system for small satellite (foundation research funded by the science committee of the national defense); the study on bionic test platform of air floating for five free dimension ground bionics (the general equipment division of People’s Liberation Army).
Dr. Wang was awarded the third prize for the science and technology development in 1999 by the Science Committee of the National Defense; he was also awarded the second prize in 2001 for the science and technology innovation by Heilong Jiang Province.
Since 1995 until now, Dr. Wang has published 83 papers in academic journals both domestically and overseas, among them, 28 papers have been referred by EI. Dr. Wang also has 16 patents registered in China and overseas.
In 1994, Dr. Wang was honored one of the top ten best youths of Harbin city; in 2000, he was awarded the prize for an excellent returning Chinese from overseas study.
