1) After submitting registration information, reader members can only become official members (increase yearly payment points 100 yuan) if they pay yearly membership dues (100 yuan) to the Editorial Office. Read (download) complete article text for once in the effective period of yearly payment, 5 yuan will be deducted (i.e. altogether 20 times), and official membership will be terminated when all payment points have been deducted. The effective period of yearly payment is from the date of payment in this year to the same date in next year. When the effective period expires, one needs to pay next year's membership dues that can also be paid before the date of expiration.
2) Contributor members do not have to pay yearly membership dues, but have to pay 100 yuan as charges for expert review for each contribution after its submission. Every time
author (contributor) submits a manuscript, the Editorial Office will provide him with 100 yuan contribution points. The total contribution points will be “number of current
authors (contributions) ×100-contribution points expired”. The system will automatically log how many times an
author member has read (downloaded) the full text of an article, and 5 yuan will be deducted each time. The effective period of contribution points gained from each contribution is 1 year (from the date the Editorial Office receive expert review payments).
3) Expert members do not have to pay yearly membership dues and every time a member reviews a contribution, the Editorial Office will add 30 yuan review points to his account. The total review points gained from review is “current number of
authors reviewed ×30 － review points cleared". The system will automatically log detailed information (e.g. how many times, when etc.) while an expert member reads (downloads) the full text of an article, though all are free.
4) Editor and administrator members can read (download) full texts of articles freely without any charges.
5) All members can enter “translation work area for sci-tech literature”, choose the article he wants to translate and select the expert member to review the translation online. The expert will assess the translation and score (e.g. excellent, good, medium, qualified, and unqualified), the system will add translation points to the translator's account according to translation type, difficulty, quantity and quality, and review points to the expert at the same time.
6) If experts not only review authors, but also online translations, the system will accumulate points gained from the two jobs, which can be exchanged for cash (normally once in half a year or once in a year) according to experts requests and other circumstances.
7) Translators can check their statistical information (login time, online time, times of translation etc.), and points will be awarded to excellent translators.
