Abstract:
In order to analyze the strength and dynamic performances of helical
gears as accurately as possible, the actual load distributions along the
contact lined of helical gears should be firstly calculated. Based on
the coordinate systems of gear profile and the corresponding matrices of
coordinate transformation, an effective method for determining the load
distribution of external or internal helical gears is proposed in this
paper. According to the reference coordinate system, the load
distributions along the contact lines and load sharing ratio of helical
gears during the whole engagement period can be simultaneously
evaluated, and this will greatly reduce the CPU time. In the end of the
present paper, a calculating example is given.
