AN APPROACH OF PRINCIPLE & DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING TOOTH-PROFILE OF

SLIDING-TOOTH GEAR

Abstract: Based on transmission principle of sliding-tooth gear and kinematic conversion theorem, the authors of this paper obtain a generating method for manufacturing the annular wheel of sliding-tooth gear. According to this method, a device for cutting the profile of annular wheel (or so called as its tooth-profile cutting accessory) was designed. As its distinguishing advantage, it can be fixed on existed hobbing machines. So, any kind of annular wheels with whatever selected parameters can be manufactured by cylindrical milling outer (for rough machining) or grinding head (for final operation). It is therefore in good condition to introduce the sliding-tooth gear into manufacturing practice.
