NEW CAVITY GROWTH RATE EQUATION IN

SUPERPLASTIC DEFORMATION

Abstract: A new cavity growth formula considering cavity interlinkage was proposed in this paper. The relationship between η, V f , r and dr/dε is first shown in the new formula during superplastie deformation. The new cavity growth formula has a wider application than reported before which did not consider the interlinkage of cavities during deformation. The prediction of the cavity growth rate is consistent with the results of the cavity growth bebavior of 7475Al alloy during superplastic deformation.
