Abstract: Loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA) is an advanced technique to analyzes the contact behavior for local conjugate gears under load. This paper presents and improved LTCA method and describes the computational principle of LTCA with several new concepts-load equivalent V, H, J, and angular displacement compatible criterion, etc. According to the computational principle the authors developed its computer procedure. Finally this paper gives an output results of a hypoid gear set as a computational example.
Key words: Spiral bevel and hypoid gears  Contact analysis
