INFLUENCE OF RETAINED AUSTENITE IN HIGH CHROMIUM CAST IRON ON IMPACT FATIGUE WEAR

Abstract: The influence of retained austenite in high chromium cast iron on impact fatigue wear was investigated by using MLD-10 Wear tester with an attached apparatus. It is indicated that retained austenite in microstructure can inhibit the initiation and propagation of fatigue crack, improve the resistance to impact fatigue and decrease impact fatigue wear.
