SHEET METAL STAMPING PROCESS

Abstract: The large-deforming elastic-plastic finite element method is introduced into sheet metal stamping process. Based on the rate-form principle of virtual work, and considered of the property of which metal can not be compressed, the formulation of FEM model is deduced. Based on this model, the phenomenon of wrinkling occurrence and development in the stamping process are simulated. Numerical results form two examples illustrate the model’s validity.
