Abstract:
A new generation algorithm of tool swept volume is introduced. Through
partitioning points outside moving object into ingress points, egress
points and grazing points, the new algorithm can quickly find all
grazing points to generate swept volume, so not depend upon the theory
of envelopes of formerly generating swept volume, avoid solving complex
equations. So it possesses many advantages of simple process, easy
programming and quick operation etc. Although this algorithm is
developed for tool swept volume, it is suitable for generating swept
volume of any rotation solid.
