Abstract:
The pseudo
excitation method (PEM) is extended to the analysis of wind-excited
random vibration (buffeting) of complex structures. The partial
correlation between wind-excitations and the cross-correlation terms
between the participant modes have all been involved in the
computations. The proposed method is not only accurate, but also very
efficient, e.g. structures with thousands of degrees of freedom can be
computed very quickly on ordinary personal computers. A large shipyard
crane is taken as a case study of the method.
