Abstract:
The
geometrical description and mesh generation for tooling surface play an
important role in the FE simulation of sheet metal forming process.
According to the characteristics of stamping tools, a method of division
of tooling surface into a group of parameterized NURBS patches and local
area mesh adjustment is put forward. Based on the concept of the
predefined parameterized NURBS surfaces, an interactive software with C+
+ code is developed for stamping tool surface modeling and mesh
generation, The die for deep drawing process is modeled and both
quadrilateral and triangular meshes are generated. And the output data
containing mesh and node information are satisfying for the successive
FE simulation.
