Abstract:
Ceramic
Al2O3 is bonded with Nb using Cu-Ti-Zr as filler metal. The morphologies
and chemical positions of the formed phases are investigated by scanning
electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive
spectroscopy (EDS). It is found that the interface structure of
diffusion-bonded joints bonded at 1 293 K for 10 min using Cu70Ti25Zr5
as braze is Al2O3/Cu2Ti4O/Ti solid solution/CuTi/Cu solid solution +
CuTi due to the formation of new phases Cu2Ti4O, Ti solid solution and
CuTi. Strength of the Al2O3/Cu70Ti25Zr5/Nb joint bonded at 1 293 K for
10 min can be reached to 162 Mpa. The lower the content of Ti and
bonding time are, or the higher the content of Ti and bonding time are,
lower strength of joints becomes.
