Abstract: An experimental method used to validate the computer
simulation of working performance of auto airbag. In this experiment, a
rigid ball is set free with a given initial velocity to impact a fixed
deployed airbag. The acceleration and velocity of the impacting ball and
airbag pressure history during the event are recorded to validate the
simulation results. The devices relevant to this experiment are designed
and manufactured by single-hand. As an example, a classical computer
model in MADYMO is validated with this experiment method.
