Abstract: Inertia items in Navier-Stokes equations are often ignored in design of hydrostatic bearing for sliding shoe of oil hydraulic axial piston pump because it is much less than viscosity items and has little effect on computing results. However, in research of water hydraulic axial piston pump, inertia items should play an important role because the viscosity of water is much less than that of oil. The effect of water flowing inertia on the distribution of pressure and velocity in the bearing clearance is studied, water hydrostatic bearing design is revised and more feasible results are drawn.

Key words: Water hydraulics  Water hydraulic pump  Hydrostatic bearing  Inertia
