Abstract: Development of coating layer for cutting tools shows that
the anti-wear layer emphasized on high hardness is gradually replaced by
the composite of low friction material incorporate with anti-wear
substance. Experimental results on friction and wear properties of
different MoS2 and carbon films are shown with our recent results.
