Abstract: Four iron-based braking materials are developed via powder
metallurgy technology based on experiments to components and technology
parameter. Mechanical property and friction and wear property are
tested. The material which is prospected to use for high-speed train is
obtained with the well mechanical property and the property of friction
coefficient of 0.31, wear rate of 2.2 μm once and friction stability of
88.9%. The microstructure is observed and the relationship between the
property and microstructure is discussed. Three key factors influencing
on tribologic characteristics of braking lining are put forward.
Key words: High-speed train Powder metallurgy braking materials
Friction and wear property Microstructure
