Abstract: Using ABAQUS FEM software, considering the viscoelasticicy
of plastics, the gear made of UHMWPE is computed and analyzed. The
relationship between the stress and strain on the root of the gear with
the time, and the corresponding relationship on its counterpart—steel
gear, are discussed.
