Abstract: Nowadays the screw transmission is studied and applied, but
it is limited to one facet that the output member is linear motion when
the input member is rotating motion. Little has been done for the
opposite facet that the output member is rotating motion when the input
member is linear motion, which is an elementary style of transmission.
The principle of the transmission, kinesis, and an optimization of
structure is studied mainly. As an example, the special ball screw
transmission mechanism is optimized with key parameters and is
trial-manufactured. On account of dynamic performances of the mechanism,
the mechanism is studied with the method of the finite element model by
the software MCAE.
