Abstract: The piezoelectric actuator is a kind of device which gets
the mechanical actuating or controlling ability by use of inverse
piezoelectric effect of the piezoelectric material. The device, actuated
and controlled by the piezoelectric material, gets the simple structure,
prompt reaction and the wide concern of the scientists, just because of
the advantages of the piezoelectric material, such as rapid reaction,
high precision, the ability against interfering. At present, the
developed devices with piezoelectric actuation and control are mainly
ultrasonic motor and precise actuator etc, widely and successfully used
in the national defence, the biomedicine, the photoelectron and so on
many fields. The research actuality and application in this fields are
introduced. Some representative device examples are given here. And
there are some evaluations about the relational performance .
