FLEXIBLE MODEL OF MULTI-AXLE VEHICLE

RIDE COMFORT

Abstract: In order to consider the influence of the bending vibrations of sprung mass to multi-axle vehicle ride comfort. A flexible model of multi-axle vehicle ride comfort is presented by combining the vibration theory of elastic beam and modal analysis method. According to assessment method of vehicle ride comfort the whole vehicle ride comfort is simulated with the model presented. The simulation results show that the rigid model is not acceptable for multi-axle vehicle. At the same time, the road running test of a five axle heavy vehicle is carried out. The modeling approach and the flexible model of ride comfort presented are proved to be feasible by the compare between simulation results with test results at different speeds.
