Abstract: The stress distribution of the blank center is analyzed by
finite-element simulating new FM forging. There is a critical value of
tool width ratio when the axial tense stress turns to compressive stress
under given reduction ratio and blank width ratio; likewise, there is a
critical value of blank width ratio when the transverse tense stress
turns to compressive stress under given reduction ratio and tool width
ratio. The rational processing parameters of tool width ratio, blank
width ratio and reduction ratio must match. The conclusion of numerical
analysis is the precise and refined processing parameter of new FM.
