Abstract: Stability and local bifurcation of two kinds of inertial
shakers are investigated by theoretical analysis and numerical
simulations. It is demonstrated that the system can exhibit chaotic
behaviour via Hopf bifurcation or doubling-periodic bifurcation of
periodic impact motion. Routes from Hopf bifurcation and
doubling-periodic bifurcations of periodic impact motion to chaos are
discussed. The system parameters of shaker may be optimized by studying
of stability and bifurcation of periodic impact motion of shaker.
