MICROSTRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF HIGH

VELOCITY ARC SPRAYING COATINGS

Abstract: High velocity arc spray (HVAS) is investigated compared with those of regular arc sprayed coatings. The wear properties of three HVAS coatings are also tested. Results show that HVAS coatings have a better comprehensive mechanical properties and quality. For the HVAS coatings,  the adhesion strength and the relative wear resistance increase respectively by 40% and more than two times than those of regular arc sprayed coatings.
