Abstract: “Human-computer cooperation” is an effective way to solve the problems of scheme designs exists in complicated engineering systems. In order to realize it, a human-computer interaction based hybrid simulated annealing/genetic algorithm is presented (for short, HCI-SA/GA), which makes artificial schemes (schemes designed by specialists, i.e. artificial individuals) and algorithm schemes (schemes designed by algorithm, i.e. algorithm individuals) combined in the gene layer and undergone algorithm’s operations (selection, crossover and mutation) together. Then a HCI-SA/GA based evolutionary design method not only keeps up the characteristics of evolution algorithm but also makes use of the experiences and wisdom of human, so it will contribute to solving the problems of  layout conceptual design exist in complicated engineering system. At last, two examples with the layout design of satellite cabin in the background show the feasibility and efficiency of the approach.
