Abstract: Spiral groove dry running non-contacting gas seals named after“WLndef 288 type” is designed and manufactured. Its angular wobbly self-excited whirl with “half-frequency” and the gas film resonant whip is analyzed. The commercial DGS is tested for 3 000 h nearly(to start-up and stop for 100 time), Its property is excellent by description of experimental investigation data.
