Abstract: Hydraulic transformer is an innovational hydraulic
component under the development of common pressure rail and secondary
controlled system. The technology background and development of
hydraulic transformer is discussed, and its energy-saving concept and
characters are also given. The working principle, the key technologies
required to be solved and efficiency calculation of the hydraulic
transformer is shown, recent studies at home and abroad and its
applications in hydraulic systems are also given. It can be concluded
that hydraulic transformer has many significant advantages and will play
a key role in energy saving of fluid power transmission in near future
after perfecting it.
