Abstract: The basic theory of analyzing thermo-elasto-plastic
behavior is described by finite-element method and the causes of
transverse deformation are explained. Based on convective heat transfer
boundary conditions of steel plates subjected to large density
impingement jets, the thermal field of medium steel plate is computed
numerically. And by the indirect coupling method of thermal stress, a
mathematical model incorporating thermo-elasto-plastic behavior is
developed to analyze the causes of plate deformation. Compared thermal
stress with corresponding time-dependent temperature history, defective
shapes can be prevented by the appropriate control of water flow ratio
between top and bottom headers.
