Abstract: Endue SEN new function: put a X-shape flow leading flake inside an SEN so that molten steel goes from meso-bundle to mould flows in vortex. With solidification conduct heat coupling numerical analysis and molten steel flowing in a mould of 165 mm×165 mm square ingot continuous casting, X-shape SEN pouring is proven to have relieved depth by shock and evened the distribution of temperature field. Industry test shows that X-shape SEN pouring can improve the low time structure and mechanical performance of a continuous casting billet.

Key words: Square ingot continuous casting  Mould  SEN
