Abstract: In order to confirm the statue of the power fluid system for proactive maintenance, a new method is introduced to detect the weak pulse amplitude of particle signal buried in noise based on matched filter theory. Its principle and the method with which to determine the filter coefficient when it is used for detecting signal amplitude is discussed. Generalized matched filter is designed through analyzing the property of the measuring system. The result shows this method is simple and has less computational complexity. The weak particle signal not only can be reliably extracted from heavy noise, but also its amplitude can be recovered satisfactorily, the precision and on-line monitoring ability of the measuring system is effectively improved using this method.

Key words: Proactive maintenance   Design of matched filter   Fluid contamination monitoring
