Abstract: The composition of gaterotor profile of worm compressor is analyzed, the formulae of enveloping surface and tracking surface of gaterotor tooth are proposed, radial hobbing interference of gaterotor is discussed. The research shows that the gaterotor can not be generated by wormgear hob, a machining method using extreme tracking surface to approach enveloping one is proposed, calculating method and controlling model of the principle error of the gaterotor are established. Theoretical research and test show that the method proposed in this paper is characterized by simpler in cutter structure, easier in manufacture accuracy control and lower production cost.
