Abstract: The
application of magnesium alloys as mobile phone shell materials is
developed rapidly because of their abundant resources, light weight,
high thermal conductivity, good electromagnetic shielding
characteristics, and easily recycled properties. The development and
pollution tendency of mobile phones, as well as compared and assessed
both plastics and magnesium alloys as mobile phone shell materials
through sample life cycle matrix are discussed. The result shows that
except energy consumption, the magnesium alloys are more superior to
plastics in their performance, recycling, and environmental burdens.
