Abstract: The Ni-SiC composite coating with different volume
fraction of SiC particles is manufactured by elestrodeposition. The
effects of load and volume fraction of SiC particles on sliding wear
under the condition of dry and lubrication sliding are studied. The
results show that the wear resistance of Ni-SiC composite coating
increases with the decrease of load and is superior to nickel coating
whether dry sliding or lubrication sliding. Under the condition of dry
sliding, Ni-SiC composite coating with 5.8% volume fraction of SiC
particles get the most excellent wear resistance. Under the condition of
lubrication sliding, the wear resistance of Ni-SiC composite coating
increases with the increase of SiC particles in the layer.
