Abstract: The
cognition theory of product perceptual image is discussed. Then a method
of product form design based on perceptual image is advanced. Firstly,
the perceptual image words that are agreement with describing product
perceptual image are distilled from factor analysis and cluster analysis
by questionnaire survey. Secondly, the product form items are
decompounded by qualitative analysis. Thirdly, the corresponding
relation of product form and perceptual image is obtained by
quantitative analysis from second questionnaire survey. And the design
rule database of product form that can guidance product designing is
founded. At last, it proves the method is feasible and reasonable using
the T inspection and the example of design bicycle frame.
