Abstract: Based on the analysis of the oil-whip of rotor by nonlinear dynamics, the responses are added to the FEA model of rotor as boundary conditions. The damage variable is introduced into the constitution equation and the interactive effects of damage and stress and strain are considered. The evolution of the rotor under oil-whip is analyzed by this coupled-damage method and the failure machinery of the rotor under oil-whip is discussed. Simultaneously, the effects of the coupling function of the stress, strain and damage to damage evolution of rotor are also studied. Finally, some conclusions are given to support the catastrophe prevention and safe design of steam turbine generator.
