Abstract: Chaos is one of the kinetic forms of nonlinear dynamic system. As a new branch of theory of mechanical vibration, chaos vibration is paid attention by lots of researchers. Machine tool-cutter-workpiece-fixture is a complicated nonlinear dynamic system, there are lots of nonlinear factors that influence on characteristics of system. Using the system’s phase portraits’ Poincaré section and maximal Lyapunov exponent, chaos in end-milling system is investigated.

Key words: Chaos  Nonlinear dynamics system  End-milling  Vibration
