Abstract: The multi-modes and disperse characteristics of guided
circumferential waves in hollow cylinders is investigated by theoretical
analysis and numerical computation. The geometrical factor that can
affect the guided circumferential waves is confirmed. The relationship
of guided waves between different hollow cylinders and relevant plate is
found. Finally, the results indicate that some given guided
circumferential waves are fit for non-destructive testing(NDT) of
longitudinal cracks in hollow cylinders.
