Abstract: Application of semi-active suspensions is an effective way
to improve the lateral comfort of railway vehicle. A lateral on-off
semi-active suspension which can be conveniently used in the train is
illustrated. The simulation and test results show that contrast to
passive suspension, the accelerations and velocities are reduced when
the system is installed on the vehicle. Hence the lateral stability has
been improved.
