Abstract: One new method of the sheet metal dieless forming is
creatively proposes —— the point bolster dieless forming, which adopts
point rod as bolster instead of the conventional model bolster. This
method gets rid of the constraint of the mould and realizes the real
dieless forming. In this new forming method, cone is the critical shape.
Such protuberant shape as parabolic shell tends to instability, as well
cone and hyperboloid is stable. However, the instability can be
effectively overcome if technologic projects are implemented according
to the influence factors.
