Abstract: Required by electric vehicle system simulation, two equivalent circuit battery models named GNL model and CR model are proposed. To validate these two models, a comparison study between five models including another three often used models named Rint model, Thevenin model and PNGV model are conducted. Model parameters of five models are all obtained by performing a multiple linear regression on the hybrid pulse test data of an 80 Ah Ni-MH battery pack with 320 cells in series. Current input models in vehicle simulation environment of these five models are realized by MATLAB/ Simulink with the obtained model parameters. A 26.67 A constant current discharge test and a 1 372 s FUDS test are used to validate and compare models’ performance. Compared with voltage error between simulation result and test data, it is concluded that PNGV model and GNL model are more suitable for electrical vehicle system simulation and GNL model done better.
