Abstract: The feasibility on engineering application of
controllability study of mechanical seal is analyzed in theory and
practice in this paper. Controllable parameter of mechanical seal
includes face temperature, film thickness, friction torque, leakage rate
and face pressure. Machinery includes electromagnetic iron, adjustor and
fluid drive device, etc. Meanwhile, stationary ring with temperature
sensor is complex, inconvenient to be set up and of low reliability in
measuring film thickness. Torque sensor can be used successfully in
measuring friction torque between main shaft and motor in the non-load
mechanical seal test. A mechanical seal control system consisting of
mechanical seal, torque sensor, hollow O-ring, signal adjustor, center
processor and performer is designed.
