APPLICATION OF A WEB-BASED IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR CORROSION FAILURE

MODE AND CAUSES

Abstract: A web-based corrosion failure mode identification system is presented, which utilizes case-based reasoning technology as the core mechanism of system reasoning machine and takes production-frame integrated method to present corrosion failure cases. Corrosion failure cases of pressure pipe and vessel are stored in the case base of system, of which corrosion failure modes concerned include stress corrosion cracking, corrosion fatigue and intergranular corrosion. The identification system presented can recognize the failure mode of unknown corrosion failure case inputted, figure out the similarity of corrosion failure case to the certain mode and provide the explanation for

causes of corrosion failure.
