Abstract: Based on analysis of independent decision models for
production scheduling and preventive maintenance planning, an integrated
model is proposed that simultaneously determines production scheduling
and preventive maintenance planning decisions so that the total weighted
tardiness of jobs is minimized. In the model, according to the failure
distribution function of the machine, the estimative failure time and
renewal time of the machine are joined in decision variables set.
Finally, a simple example is used to demonstrate the contrastive
analysis results by independent decision and integrating optimal
scheduling. The numerical results show an average reduction of 30% in
expected total weighted tardiness.
