Abstract: Method for constructing N-sided patches with B-spline on the basis of Gregory N-sided surface theory is presented. The attributes make the N-sided patches be able to interpolate the boundaries and derivatives over the boundaries which are represented with 3-ordered B-spline. Firstly Gregory  method is used to construct a N-sided patch, and then, according to the patch’s data , an N-sided surface can be generated with n rectangular surface patches satisfying G1 continuity between those patches.

Key words: Computational geometry  Non-four-sided patch   NURBS  Surface fitting  Autobody design
