Abstract: A hump analysis method, which is used to optimize dehumidification performance of a rotary desiccant dehumidifier, has been proposed. A parametric study using hump analysis and wave analysis methods, was carried out to investigate the detailed dehumidification and the regeneration processes. The influences of some important parameters on hump value of the outlet regeneration air, time of hump transfer, as well as the wave profiles on the psychrometric chart, were discussed. Some optimization schemes with single parameter were proposed. Also a comprehensive optimization scheme with multi-parameters considering both the performance and the cost regarding and experimental rotary dehumidifier was summarized.
