Abstract: Because of the complicated deformation, the research for a
rectangular box relies mainly on finite element method (FEM) and
experiment, so the development of intelligent control for non-axisymmetric
part deep drawing is limited. On the basis of hypothesis that the
deformation law of shear stress zero-line is the same as the equivalent
axisymmetric workpiece, the approximate stress analysis solution in
flange and sidewall area is obtained from the deformation
characteristics of a rectangular box in the process of deep drawing. The
method which is verified by the FEM simulation provides not only an
effective means for studying the deformation law of a rectangular box,
but also the theoretical basis for the parameter identification model
and prediction model in the intelligent deep drawing control.
